Himeji Tourist Information

This is the site where the chief retainers of the Himeji clan used to have their residence in the Edo period. Based on the layout of samurai residences in the period ruled by the Sakai family, this park was newly built to reproduce the historic image of the Sakai era in the latter Edo period by restoring old streets and the layout of samurai residences. 'Karo-Yashiki-Kan' of four samurai-residence-style buildings is fully equipped with restaurants and souvenir shops.
